Overview Nexstar Media Group has an immediate opening for an experienced and strategic Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment (Senior Director). The Associate General Counsel serves as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders across the organization. This role provides legal advice and guidance to internal clients in all areas of state and federal employment laws and manages outside counsel in legal proceedings involving the company. The position is also responsible for responding to administrative charges, pre-filing demands, and employment-related subpoenas and other requests for personnel records.Responsibilities Providing legal advice and guidance to internal clients on issues involving employment law, including terminations, reasonable accommodations, employment agreements, wage/hour matters, disciplinary actions, performance management, and general employee relationsConducting and/or supervising internal investigations related to harassment, discrimination, and other law and policy violationsNegotiating, drafting, and providing advice on employment agreements, separation agreements, and other employment-related documentsConducting legal risk assessments and mitigating risk to the company by guiding internal clients to sound employment decisionsReviewing/revising existing employee policies and procedures, and drafting new ones when necessaryManaging outside counsel in litigation, arbitrations, and administrative legal proceedingsResponding to administrative charges, pre-filing demands, and employment-related subpoenas and requests for personnel recordsEnsuring compliance with employment-related regulations including ADA, FMLA, OFCCP, EPA, etc.Other duties consistent with the role as assignedQualifications Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law schoolActive member in good standing with at least one state bar associationMinimum 6 years' experience with a corporate legal department or large firm practicing employment law; Experience with labor law is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skills to a wide variety of audiencesExpert level knowledge of employment law and the ability to simplify and impart knowledge to non-expert internal clientsProficiency with Microsoft Office programs and tools#J-18808-Ljbffr
