THE ROLE
The Richmond County District Attorney (RCDA) is seeking a veteran law enforcement professional for the position of Senior Detective Investigator. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

SENIOR DETECTIVE INVESTIGATOR - 30827
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate degree or 60 credits from an accredited college, with specialization in police science, criminal justice or law enforcement and either one (1) year of full time satisfactory experience as a police officer or deputy sheriff of an authorized police department or sheriffs office or one (1) year of full time satisfactory experience performing criminal investigations in which field work comprised a substantial part of the duties; or
A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and either three (3) years of full time satisfactory experience as a police officer or duty sheriff or three (3) year of full time paid experience performing criminal investigations in which field work comprised a substantial part of the duties; or
A combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to the requirements in "1" and "2" above. However, all candidates must a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Driver License Requirement: You must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York at the time of appointment. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
