This Senior Design Engineer role is responsible for leading complex, cross-disciplinary product development projects across electronic, optical, and microelectronic systems.

Description

The Senior Design Engineer will lead the development of complex electronic and optoelectronic products, working across multiple engineering domains including embedded systems, microelectronics, and thermal/mechanical integration. This role involves full ownership of the design process, from initial concept and feasibility through to validation, industrialisation, and production support, while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and internal quality standards. You will collaborate closely with project management, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

• Lead end-to-end design and development of advanced electronic and optoelectronic assemblies.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert in electronic and/or embedded system design.
• Conduct design risk assessments and define mitigation strategies throughout the lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and design documentation.
• Partner with manufacturing to optimise production processes, testing, and product performance.

Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced and technically strong electronics design professional with a proven track record of delivering complex products into production environments. You will be comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines, combining hands-on technical expertise with strong problem-solving and project ownership capabilities. In addition, you will bring a proactive mindset, a collaborative approach, and the ability to mentor junior team members while contributing to overall engineering excellence.

• B.S. (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 8+ years' experience.
• Strong expertise in embedded systems, electronic design, and microelectronic assemblies
• Proficiency with eCAD tools, simulation software, and programming.
• Experience with product validation, testing, and design documentation best practices.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments, cleanrooms, and process optimization.
