About the role

This position is responsible for executing all aspects of finished goods and Raw materials demand planning. A key responsibility is to facilitate an effective Sales & Operations Planning process. This process includes working with Product Management, Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to develop, implement and execute planning strategies supporting our business units objectives. This position must simultaneously focus on minimizing operational expenses and working capital while meeting our customers delivery expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and provide data to support Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Develop and implement forecasting policies for each product group through data analysis in order to achieve inventory objectives; this includes appropriate safety stock strategies
  • Participate in the Product Development process and support product launch and transitions through all stages of the planning process
  • Lead projects related to inventory strategy across product families and item transitions
  • Drive forecasts accuracy improvement through root cause analysis, collaboration and process improvements
  • Identify and resolve variances between demand and forecast and report out forecast accuracy measures
  • Run Demand Plan consensus meetings with Sales, Product Management and Marketing to ensure that promotions, New Product Introduction and other market trends are accurately planned
  • Integrate customer requirements, raw material requirements, and production resources with demand plan
  • Manage demand plan on phase out/phase in, suggest cutover dates that minimize inventory exposure and maintain service levels during transitions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain, business or engineering required
  • Masters or MBA a plus
  • APICS, IBF, or CPDF certifications a plus
  • Minimum 5 years Demand Planning experience required
  • Experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing process a plus
  • Lean manufacturing certification and experience is a plus
  • Experience with Demand Planning software a plus

  • Broad knowledge of forecasting, product distribution, inventory control, manufacturing processes and master scheduling
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • Flexible to adapt to new tasks, technologies, processes, and project requirements
  • Innovative in development of new ideas and approaches for engineering challenges
  • Analyze data to make informed decisions
  • Ability to think critically and make informed decisions to optimize performance
