Advertising/Posting Title Senior Database Solution Professional Posting Summary

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of database application solutions within the LCOM Office of Health Promotion Research (OHPR). Perform business analysis and database design to serve unit's needs using existing data management platforms supported by campus technology services groups (e.g. REDCap, Databricks, Salesforce, etc.). Also responsible for testing, custom reporting and integration with other data stores within and outside UVM. Primary responsibilities include the development and implementation of data transformation processes integrating identifiable Human Subjects data from medical records and other data sources into secure research data warehouses for the Vermont Breast Cancer Surveillance System (VBCSS) and other biomedical human subjects research projects. Provide project leadership skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands and coordinate activities. Leads planning and implementation of research data infrastructure initiatives supporting OHPR research programs. Collaborate with information technology staff at multiple health care facilities, investigators from numerous departments within the University, and collaborators at the National Cancer Institute and other external institutions to conceptualize and develop solutions for data collection, processing, and validation needs. Serve as the primary subject matter expert for research database architecture and data integration within OHPR. Ensure the security of restricted Human Subjects data through technical and administrative safeguards.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technology related field or equivalent experience, with at least five years of experience in relational database administration and programming, including substantial experience with Microsoft SQL Server, REDCap, ArcGIS, and SAS statistical software. Software application project management experience required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working with confidential Human Subjects data. Demonstrated track record of working with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers.

Desirable Qualifications

10 years of experience in relational database administration and programming, including substantial experience with Microsoft SQL Server, REDCap, ArcGIS, and SAS statistical software. Familiarity with medical records data structures and terminology. Experience with legacy xBase systems, [SG5.1]MatchPro, and Insightly CRM.
