Akkodis is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a Contract job with a client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate must have deep expertise in machine learning, operations research, and large-scale data modeling, along with experience delivering end-to-end data science solutions in cloud environments.
Rate Range: $100/hour to $110/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Data Scientist job responsibilities include:
Translate complex business challenges into scalable data science and optimization solutions aligned with strategic objectives and KPIs.
Design, build, and deploy machine learning models and operations research solutions (LP, IP, MIP) to optimize business processes.
Perform advanced feature engineering, model evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning to improve performance and accuracy.
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to integrate AI/ML models into production systems.
Monitor model performance and continuously refine models using real-world data and feedback loops.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices in model development, MLOps, and data science workflows.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred).
5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or operations research (2+ years with PhD).
Strong expertise in optimization modeling (CPLEX, Gurobi) and mathematical programming techniques.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark for large-scale data processing.
Experience with ML frameworks including Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
Hands-on experience deploying solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
Familiarity with streaming data pipelines and real-time data processing.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in hospitality, travel, or service industries
Knowledge of MLOps and scalable model deployment architectures
Strong ability to link analytics outcomes to business value and ROI
Passion for innovation and continuous learning in applied AI and data science

Pay Details: $100.00 to $110.00 per hour
