Job Title: Senior Data Modeler
Location: Tallahassee, FL (Remote after first week)
Duration: ~13 months (June 2026 June 2027, with possible extension)

We are hiring for the role of Senior Data Modeler. Below are the key details:

This role supports a large-scale financial systems modernization initiative, focused on transitioning existing project costing and accounting processes to a new financial management platform. The resource will be responsible for data modeling, cost accounting mapping, and documentation to facilitate a successful system transition.

• Analyze, develop, and document complex logical database designs, logical data models, and relational data definitions

• Understand and depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions

• Identify and resolve information flow and content issues; transform business requirements into logical data models (as-is and proposed)

• Identify opportunities to reduce data redundancy and establish single sources of data

• Combine business and technical data to assist with creation of documentation

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Application Architects to support agency processes

• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, chart of accounts, and financial transactions

• Experience with complex queries involving multiple data sources

• Experience with reading, creating, and updating data structures

• Experience with multiple include statements

• Experience with Visio or other process mapping applications

• Knowledge of the SCRUM Framework

• Knowledge of financial systems such as an ERP

• Experience with Entity Relationship Diagrams

• Experience documenting and communicating technical requirements

• Experience coordinating with Business Analysts to capture business requirements

• Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business language

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Special consideration for candidates with Six Sigma or similar business analysis/engineering certifications.
