Our Team:

The Funds team in Data is responsible for the data management of the Bloomberg public funds data product. We cover hundreds of thousands of funds across every continent of the globe consuming data from thousands of providers and ingesting and normalising this data into a consistent data model. The various datasets represent millions to billions of individually sourced and processed data points every year and is a significant daily operation.

The Role:

The Funds Data team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Engineering to help drive our automation efforts. You'll be responsible for improving automation rates across the product by identifying inefficiencies, applying modern technologies (including AI/ML where appropriate), and building solutions that improve the data quality along the way. As a Data Management Professional, you will help to develop outcome-based data strategies to optimize the value of data for our customers and improve data operations.

We'll trust you to:

  • Analyze and optimize existing workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and scalability

  • Perform quarterly reports outlining data profiling and apply statistical methods to support data quality measurements

  • Design, build and maintain data pipelines and tools to improve straight-through processing and accuracy.

  • Evaluate and apply AI/ML/NLP techniques to enhance extraction processes and decision-making

  • Collaborate with subject matter authorities in Data, as well as colleagues in Product and Engineering, on roadmaps to improve automation rates and ensure consistency in quality in maintained or improved

  • Lead projects globally to improve data quality for a variety of customer types and use cases

  • Employ quantitative methods to advise and enhance on decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, and solution management

  • Keep up with the industry trends, standards, and innovation in the data quality domain

  • Work in a fast paced, multifaceted & collaborative setting

You'll Need to Have:

  • A BA/BS degree or higher

  • 3+ years of Python programming and scripting in a production environment

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a distributed team environment

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, numerical proficiency and high attention to detail

  • Experience building or maintaining automated workflows, pipelines, or data systems

  • Understanding and experience in large-scale distributed systems

  • Solid ability to combine technical data science traits with good business insight

  • Strong analytical abilities with passion for data and evidence-based decision-making

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical processes and solutions to business partners and management

We'd love to see:

  • Knowledge of Funds Data and their uses

  • Experience with data visualization or BI tools such as Tableau or Qlik Sense

  • Understanding of Machine Learning, applied statistics and data analytics

Salary Range = 110,000 - 190,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
