Senior Credit Analyst


Location: Lewisville, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays; flexible schedule typically between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Status: Full-Time | Exempt
Reports To: Senior Credit Officer


About the Role


Herring Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Analyst to support the Bank’s commercial lending and credit administration functions through advanced underwriting, financial analysis, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessment. This role partners closely with Relationship Managers, Regional Presidents, and Credit Leadership to evaluate lending opportunities, identify risk exposure, and support sound credit decisions aligned with the Bank’s credit culture and strategic goals.


The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial banking and underwriting experience, analytical expertise, and the ability to manage complex credit relationships across a variety of industries.


What You’ll Do


  •  Analyze commercial loan requests through detailed review of financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and guarantor support 
  •  Prepare comprehensive written credit presentations for lending officers and loan committees 
  •  Evaluate and document overall credit risk utilizing the Bank’s underwriting standards and the 5 C’s of Credit 
  •  Conduct industry and market research to support lending decisions 
  •  Monitor commercial loan portfolios, including covenant tracking, borrowing base analysis, collateral reviews, and periodic financial reporting 
  •  Identify potential credit concerns and assist with ongoing portfolio risk management 
  •  Support renewals, modifications, and relationship reviews 
  •  Partner closely with lending teams to support portfolio quality and commercial lending growth 
  •  Assist with appraisal ordering and review processes to ensure regulatory compliance and adequacy 
  •  Maintain compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and applicable banking regulations, including BSA responsibilities 
  •  Provide mentorship and support to junior credit analysts as needed

Qualifications


  •  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Agricultural Economics, or related field preferred; equivalent commercial banking experience considered 
  •  Minimum of 5 years of commercial credit analysis and underwriting experience preferred 
  •  Working knowledge of commercial lending principles, banking regulations, and credit administration practices 
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word 
  •  Ability to pass background and credit screening requirements
