Senior Cost Control EngineerResponsible for supporting the management of construction budgets from project inception through completion in accordance with construction contract documents, including validation of potential change orders and associated cost.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand construction contract documents, outline compliance requirements, and coordinate with the cost and project management team.Support the cost and project management team's review of contractors' requests to award (RTA) to subcontractors and monitor buyout savings.During the monthly review of the pay application, ensure that contractors' schedule of values aligns with the contract, verify the required monthly documentation, reconcile the project budget as needed, and inform the cost and project management teams.Submit requests for vendor purchase orders to applicable team members and support team in reviewing invoices to comply with agreed terms.Obtain detailed monthly cash flow projections from the contractor, reconcile projections with actual figures, and provide these projections to the Cost Control Manager for review and submission to the capital and investment teams.Support the evaluation of potential change order events by researching contract documents and relevant cost information to the Cost Control Manager for review in making recommendations to project management teams.Maintain a log of potential change orders and their approximate costs, track approved change orders, manage the internal approval process for change orders according to the delegation of authority, and ensure review by the legal department as necessary.Support the project management, cost, and finance team with the monthly loan draw process as required, including acquiring any necessary documentation from the contractor or its subcontractors.Document action items from weekly and biweekly meetings to review pay applications, required documentation, and change order status and follow up with teams as needed.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in construction management, financing, or accounting; or relevant professional experience.Knowledge of construction contract documents and change management.Experience in financial and project management software (e.g., Workday, e-Builder, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud).Ability to collaboratively work within a dynamic and diverse team and environment.Five or more years of experience in construction or project management.Preferred QualificationsSeven or more years of experience in construction or project management preferred.Prior experience in a cost and/or change management.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong collaboration skills, analytical, and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills.BenefitsRoth and Traditional 401(k) matching contributions with immediate vestingEvery employee is bonus or commission eligibleGenerous PTO, Paid Volunteer Days Plus Floating HolidaysStock Purchase Plan (SPP)11 paid Holidays Annually/Holiday compensation when workedPet and Legal InsuranceQ-Rest Sabbatical ProgramQ-Anniversary Service Award ProgramParental Leave for primary and secondary caregiversMilitary Benefits PackageQTS Charitable Matching Gift ProgramQTS Scholarship for Employee DependentsQTS Crisis FundWellness ProgramTuition Reimbursement ProgramEqual Employment Opportunity StatementWe conform to all the laws, statutes, and regulations concerning equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
