Our client is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team in Richardson. Looking for candidates with manufacturing experience and at least 3years of cost accounting experience.Primary ResponsibilitiesCost Accounting & AnalysisDevelop and review monthly reports on production costs, margins, and operational performanceEvaluate cost variances and identify underlying drivers, providing actionable insights to leadershipMaintain and validate product costing data, including materials, labor, and overhead componentsEstablish and monitor cost allocation methods and overhead ratesReconcile inventory balances, including work-in-process, and ensure alignment between systems and financial recordsOversee inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and recommend corrective actionsSupport budgeting and forecasting efforts with detailed production and cost dataAssist with pricing analysis and initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiencyBuild a strong understanding of manufacturing workflows to enhance the accuracy of cost reportingGeneral Accounting DutiesPrepare and record journal entries related to inventory, accruals, and cost adjustmentsPerform account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activityContribute to month-end and year-end close processesAssist in preparing financial statements in compliance with accounting standardsProvide support during internal and external audits, including documentation and analysisEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies, and proceduresQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline requiredExperience3–7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accountingPrior experience in a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferredFamiliarity with inventory processes, product costing, and production flowsCore CompetenciesStrong knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysisExperience with inventory valuation and reconciliation processesProficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting toolsAdvanced Excel skills (data analysis, pivot tables, formulas)Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesClear communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial teamsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsPreferred ExperienceBackground in manufacturing, industrial, or production-based industriesExperience supporting cost reduction or continuous improvement initiativesExposure to operational improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma)Advanced reporting or data analytics capabilitiesWork Conditions & Physical RequirementsRegular interaction with both office and production environmentsAbility to sit for extended periods and work at a computerOccasional movement through manufacturing or warehouse areasLight lifting may be required periodically#J-18808-Ljbffr
