Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range $95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yrDirect message the job poster from Vaco by HighspringCost AccountantKey Responsibilities:* Monitor, collect, update, analyze, summarize, and evaluate cost-related information.* Develop and maintain cost models for pricing and profitability analysis.* Conduct Work-in-Progress (WIP) Analysis to monitor and evaluate costs associated with unfinished goods, ensuring accurate allocation of labor, materials, and overhead to WIP inventory.* Perform Purchase Price Variance (PPV) Analysis to assess and explain the differences between actual and standard purchase costs, identifying reasons for variances and recommending corrective actions.* Maintain sub-ledger activities, including inventory, work-in-progress (WIP), and bills of materials (BOMs).* Partner with Warehouse/Inventory Control on cycle counts and physical inventories.* Work with Supply Chain to reduce aged and obsolete inventory.* Analyze and maintain inventory valuation and cost fluctuations.* Review monthly inventory details to identify excess/obsolete items and record related journal entries (e.g., maintaining E&O reserve).* Compile, analyze, and communicate monthly scrap and shrinkage results by plant, identifying areas for scrap reduction.* Assist with the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy in system-generated transactions and manual entries.* Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close.* Assist in preparing month-end and year-end reports, including inventory reconciliations, journal entries, and cost of goods sold analysis.* Provide full support during company financial audits and respond to internal/external audit requests.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, etc.) to address issues and optimize processes.Additional Responsibilities* Perform various ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.Qualifications & Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Accounting.* 5+ years of job-related work experience.* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTable, SUMIF) and financial reporting tools.* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.* Knowledge of SAP is a plus.Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
