Role Synopsis
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for the oversight of accounting and financial reporting, and other office administration issues.

- Maintain and analyze detailed cost records, including inventory, manufacturing and operational costs
- Prepare and review cost reports, audits, and variance analyses, ensuring accurate allocation of costs and adherence to GAAP
- Review standard cost ERP transactions and ensure accurate financial reporting and operations decision making
- Process month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Spear head collaboration between finance, supply chain, and operations to optimize manufacturing costs and implement cost saving initiatives
- Oversee general accounting duties and support certain working capital functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Treasury functions
- Hands on support of month end, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts, including journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly reports
- Support ERP and financial systems, including user training, technical support and process improvements

Qualifications/Work Experience
Education
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting
Preferred
- Master's degree or
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience
Essential
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills with proven experience in delivering cost improvements
- Excellent technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Financial accounting and reporting systems experience
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, as well as ability deliver clear and concise presentations to executive management
- Possesses a strong sense of urgency in managing and completing assignments
- Ability to maintain focus and work independently and effectively under stringent time constraints and multiple deliverables
- Understand the impact to business units and decide on best approach to analyzing a business problem or business unit
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements opportunity
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus

- Capable of traveling to various facilities around the regions, as well as international locations for meetings or training as necessary and directed.

- Speak/hear and use specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Capable of properly using standard office equipment, including telephone, and a computer with keyboard.
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Includes steel toe shoes and safety glasses. Additional PPE may be required based on location and task.
