Together, we do great things.\n \nWho You Are & The Impact You Will Have: \n \nSenior Corporate Counsel - Power & Utilities supports the company's energy strategy team and other internal stakeholders in a variety of transactional matters. Senior Corporate Counsel is expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the power solutions for a data center campus and provide actionable advice to business stakeholders. Secondary responsibilities may include corporate governance, energy regulatory and compliance, development of internal corporate policies and procedures, and assisting others on the legal team with insurance issues and vendor contract negotiations.\n \nWhat You Will Do:\n\n Negotiating and drafting contracts with regulated electric utilities, merchant generation suppliers, and other third-party providers of power-related (power delivery, EPC, etc.) services and equipment.\n Negotiating and drafting contracts related to retail and behind-the-meter generation\n Advising business stakeholders on opportunities and risk in power transactions\n Facilitating communication among internal stakeholders, frequently including energy strategy, real estate investments, customer leasing, and finance teams\n Working with and managing outside counsel\n Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance\n Assisting with corporate governance matters as well as managing books and records\n Supporting other key business stakeholders on power-related aspects of other business segments that include lending/financing, joint ventures, acquisitions, construction, real estate, intellectual property, tax abatements, litigation, etc.\n Supporting other legal and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as assigned.\n \nWhat You Will Need to be Successful:\n\n J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials\n Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia\n Five or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general corporate transactional practice\n \nNice to Have:\n\n Experience working with or representing regulated utilities or large consumers of energy\n Experience with retail generation transactions\n Experience with PPAs\n Experience with behind the meter generation projects and other non-traditional power solutions\n Experience representing large consumers of energy\n \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\n\n Hands-on, self-starter who is disciplined and detail-oriented, and who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-based business environment where timely and precise work product and clear communication are a must\n Agile and versatile; comfortable with new and unfamiliar subject matter; easily adaptable to change\n Enterprising and entrepreneurial\n Ambitious and motivated by a positive and optimistic outlook\n Able to take initiative with no direction\n Strong written and oral communication skills\n Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills\n Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines\n Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment\n Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality\n Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel),\n Excellent analytical, time-management, judgment and decision-making skills\n Ability to effectively multitask and manage competing priorities and demands on time\n Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills\n Able to effectively manage complicated legal and business issues\n Ability to effectively manage others, including outside counsel and service providers\n \nThe Perks (and these are just a few!):\n\n QRest Sabbatical \n Employee Stock Purchase\n QTS scholarship for dependents\n Eagle Club award trip eligibility\n Paid volunteer days \n* Tuition assistance, parental leave and military leave assistance\n \nTotal Rewards\n \nThis role is also eligible for a competitive bene\ufb01ts package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; \ufb02exible spending and HSA accounts; paid holidays; paid time off; paid volunteer days; employee assistance program; tuition assistance; parental leave; military leave assistance; QTS scholarship for dependents; wellness program, and other company bene\ufb01ts.\n \nThis position is Bonus eligible.\n \nWe conform to all the laws, statutes, and regulations concerning equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
