Senior Controls Engineer
Location: Upper Mt Bethel, PA
Duration: 12+ Month Contract 

Pay Rate: $75 - $85

Interview: Onsite In-Person

Travel Requirement - Senior Controls Engineer will travel between worksites at our Portland, PA and Mount Bethel, PA locations (these sites are a 5 minute drive from each other)

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with actions and words daily.
  • Develop, implement, and support plant control system hardware, software, and field instrumentation efficiently and safely.
  • Troubleshoot control system hardware and software and implement corrective actions independently.
  • Actively participate in Design Reviews and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
  • Configure and program PLC, DCS, and SCADA control systems.
  • Work with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facility.
  • Establish engineering design basis and assist with design documentation for both new and existing facilities while following department standards.
  • Assist with loop tests and interlock tests for new processes and yearly ISO testing for calibration and interlock checks.
  • Complete all assigned training and tasks successfully.
  • Understand electrical distribution and power loading in industrial control systems.
  • Support new process startup, with potential shift work required.
  • Be on call for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including programming PLC/DCS for chemical plant design and operation, as well as process data collection and distribution.
  • Knowledge and experience of instrument engineering.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards for process control hardware and software as applied to hazardous materials handling and manufacture.
  • Experience with Siemens PCS 7 DCS hardware and software.
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal software.
  • Experience with Rockwell CompactLogix/ControlLogix/PanelView Plus.
  • Experience with Rockwell Studio5000, LogixDesigner5000, FactoryTalk View SE & ME, and FactoryTalk Historian.
  • Ability to develop and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience with developing and deploying ethernet-based industrial networks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Company Proficy HMI.
  • Experience in a rapid-growth environment.
  • Trained in standard procedures for safe gas and chemical handling.
  • Chemical plant operation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Team player with leadership abilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and continuously changing priorities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
