Senior Consultant

Forensic Accounting & Consulting Services

USA: San Diego, CA (Hybrid)

MGO is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our growing Forensic Accounting and Advisory practice. This role supports complex, high-impact engagements involving fraud investigations, financial statement manipulation, litigation support, forensic analyses, and financial disputes. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with an investigative mindset and the ability to deliver clear, defensible insights.

As a Senior Consultant, you will execute and support engagements that help clients address financial irregularities, regulatory scrutiny, disputes, and transaction-related risks. You will work closely with managers, partners, attorneys, and clients to analyze issues, develop conclusions, and present findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensic accounting analyses related to fraud investigations, internal reviews, compliance matters, and regulatory inquiries
  • Investigate potential financial statement manipulations, including improper revenue recognition, expense misstatements, reserves, estimates, and management override of controls
  • Support litigation matters, including damage calculations, discovery assistance, expert report support, and exhibit preparation
  • Perform financial due diligence and quality-of-earnings analyses for transactions
  • Prepare well-documented workpapers, memoranda, and client-ready deliverables
  • Participate in client meetings and present analyses and findings clearly and professionally
  • Collaborate with engagement teams to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Stay current on forensic methodologies, accounting standards, and industry best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA required or CPA-eligible with active progress toward licensure
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting or a forensic accounting, fraud investigations, litigation support, or financial advisory
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills; data analytics experience preferred

Compensation: $90,000-$120,000 + Bonus programs
