The Senior Consultant is a core member of the project team, providing day-to-day leadership on management consulting engagements for retail and supply chain clients, primarily working onsite at client locations. In this role, you will own workstream outcomes end-to-end (plan → analysis → recommendation → implementation plan), provide technical guidance, manage client relationships and project activities, and ensure high-quality, client-ready deliverables across workforce management, productivity improvement, engineered labor standards, and operational assessments. You will also manage and coach analysts/consultants while developing toward the Manager role, and travel as needed to support successful delivery of project deliverables. Senior Consultants are expected to independently lead workstreams and manage junior team members, while partnering with the Project Manager/Engagement Lead to ensure overall engagement success.

Job responsibilities:
  • Serve as Project Lead for a project and/or lead one or more engagement workstreams end-to-end, providing day-to-day leadership, project management, and subject-matter expertise while owning the workplan, milestones, deliverables, and execution—including time and motion studies, work measurement, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities
  • Provide daily project leadership and project management support, including task planning, prioritization, progress tracking, and status reporting to project leadership and client stakeholders
  • Lead onsite diagnostics and current-state assessments, including interviews, process mapping, floor observations, time-on-task capture/time & motion studies, and data validation
  • Act as the primary client counterpart for assigned workstreams; manage stakeholder alignment across all levels of the client and internal project teams
  • Gather requirements and re-engineer future-state processes, capabilities, and enabling technologies to improve operational performance
  • Research emerging technologies and methods that can deliver measurable efficiency gains for clients, and incorporate insights into recommendations
  • Collaborate with all levels of the project team and interface with client team members
  • Conducts time and motion studies and work measurement tasks for development of engineered labor standards, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities
  • Build and oversee core analyses and models (KPI baselines, volume-to-labor/capacity models, productivity opportunity sizing) to develop quantified cost-benefit and investment cases, and, where applicable, design and deliver engineered labor standards through work measurement, standards documentation, governance, rollout sequencing, and sustainment support
  • Translate analysis into actionable recommendations and implementation-ready roadmaps across people/process/technology, including change impacts and adoption planning.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions; synthesize outputs into clear decisions, action plans, and executive-ready narratives and presentations.
  • Contribute to business development by developing project proposals, presentations, and supporting new client opportunities as requested.
  • Manage and develop junior team members by delegating work, coaching, and performing quality assurance on analyses and client deliverables.
  • Identify project risks, constraints, and dependencies early; propose mitigation plans and escalate as needed to ensure successful delivery.
  • Maintain strong self-management and productivity across onsite, independent, and remote work environments.
  • Travel extensively (typically 80–100%), including independent travel, across the U.S. and occasionally internationally.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 3-7 years’ experience in a consulting role using Industrial Engineering principles
  • Proven ability to lead on-site client work in retail and/or supply chain operations (stores, DC/warehouse, fulfillment).
