Location: Bothell, Washington (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking two Senior Construction Project Managers for a two-year contract engagement. This role is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic, high-volume electric utility capital projects. The position involves managing projects that improve system reliability, increase capacity, and reduce wildfire risk, including transmission, distribution, and substation upgrades. The role requires a blend of on-site field work (50%) and remote work, with potential travel throughout the service territory for which mileage will be reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of electric utility capital projects from initiation through commissioning and closeout.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for strategic, high-volume projects or portfolios, sometimes in collaboration with other project or program managers.
  • Oversee construction activities and contractor performance throughout the project.
  • Develop project plans, statements of work (SOWs), bid documents, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, environmental, and permitting teams to maintain project momentum.
  • Facilitate issue resolution, manage project risks, and handle scope changes.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, financial forecasts, and executive-level updates.
  • Build and maintain alignment among internal teams, external agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of hands-on project management experience in construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and contractors.
  • Experience with commercial construction is acceptable.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction management practices, contract administration, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the utility industry, particularly with electric infrastructure projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge of utility permitting, environmental compliance, and regulatory processes.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
