Senior Construction Manager - Point Pleasant, WV 25550 - JOB 26-00538
Salary Range: $65,000 - $100,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
In this role, you will serve as the owner's technical and quality representative for a high-profile, mission-critical infrastructure project located in Point Pleasant, WV. You will observe, verify, and document contractor work for strict conformance with project plans and specifications (without directing contractor means and methods). This is a senior-level field position reporting directly to the lead Construction Manager. You will act as the principal on-site representative during lead absences, including nights and weekends as the site transitions to 24/7 operations. If you bring strong independent judgment, deep heavy civil expertise, and a track record of success on large-scale sites, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Act as the principal owner technical and quality representative, serving as the primary point of contact for the owner and general contractor during lead CM absences.
- Monitor and document site development, heavy earthwork, and underground utility activities to ensure strict adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Review and manage daily field logs, track reported production and earthwork volumes, and enforce SWPPP (Storm-water Pollution Prevention Plan) and quality compliance.
- Proactively identify, document, and elevate non-conformance issues, design discrepancies, and potential schedule risks early.
- Provide senior oversight during rotating, night, or weekend shifts as needed
Requirements
- 10+ years in heavy civil and/or utility construction, with extensive senior field management experience.
- Deep, practical working knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, and large-scale site development.
- Mastery in reading and interpreting complex engineering plans, blueprints, and technical specifications to spot non-conforming work immediately.
- High degree of independent judgment and comfort serving as the lead owner's representative on a fast-paced, complex job site.
- Willingness and flexibility to work rotating/extended shifts (including nights/weekends) during 24/7 phases.
- PE (Professional Engineer), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), PMP, or related civil construction credentials are a strong plus.
