Senior Construction Estimator

We are currently seeking a Senior Estimatorwith 7-10 years previous experience with a General Contractor.  Commercial construction experience is required and a positive, innovative, teamwork attitude is a must. Only qualified candidates with 7-10 years experiencewill be considered.

Key Result Areas and Accountabilities:

Key Responsibilities:

•  Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
• Analyze project plans and specifications to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements.
•  Collaborate with project managers and architects to clarify project details, resolve discrepancies, and optimize costs.
•  Conduct thorough market research and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Review and analyze bids from subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project specifications and budget constraints.
•  Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of unit costs, labor rates, and material prices to support estimating processes.
•  Assist in the preparation of proposals and participate in bid presentations to clients.
•  Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators and other team members.
•  Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and construction methods to enhance estimating practices.
•  Participate in project reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualification Requirements:

• Degree in Construction related field required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on general construction estimating.
• Demonstrated proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proven experience in leading estimating teams and projects.
• Professional certifications are a plus.
