Senior Compensation Specialist

Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compensation Specialist to join their dynamic team on a fully remote 3–5-month contract assignment. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to influence compensation strategies within a renowned academic medical center. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with senior leaders and HR partners to design, implement, and refine compensation structures that support organizational goals. Compensation: $40-50/hr

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee complex compensation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Partner with executive leaders and HR teams to assess compensation needs, develop project plans, and deliver actionable solutions
  • Design innovative pay structures and performance-based incentive programs tailored to the organization’s strategic goals
  • Conduct comprehensive job and market analyses to inform competitive pay models
  • Develop clear, impactful communication materials and training resources to support compensation initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of job documentation and classification frameworks
  • Evaluate system processes and support system enhancements related to compensation management
  • Present findings and project updates to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and engagement
  • Assist in the training of HR staff on compensation practices and policies

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience handling large, complex compensation projects in a healthcare or academic medical center setting
  • Proven expertise in designing new pay structures and performance-based reward programs
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles and regulations (e.g., FLSA, Massachusetts Pay Equity Act)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market data and develop competitive pay strategies
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and database management; experience with Workday is highly preferred
