Overview:
The Physical Retail team at Wayfair is building a playbook that drives traffic to our growing store footprint while supporting a seamless omnichannel customer experience. The Store Marketing team is hiring a Senior Associate of Community Marketing to lead community engagement and activation strategy for our large format stores. This role is based in the store and reports to the Home Office Store Marketing team in Boston, partnering closely with field leaders and cross functional teams to create meaningful local connections that bring customers into the store.
What Does a Community Marketing, Sr. Associate Do?
Build the Community Marketing Strategy: Partner with Home Office to develop and execute the community marketing roadmap, seasonal strategies, and playbook. Identify and evaluate local opportunities that drive store traffic and brand awareness while forecasting and analyzing impact.
Lead Local Social Media and Digital Presence: Develop and manage the store's local social media content calendar in partnership with channel leads. Maintain the store's online presence across platforms including Google, Yelp, Bing, and store web pages with accurate photos, hours, and event details.
Plan and Execute In Store Programming: Partner with Home Office and field leaders to build an in store event calendar that reflects both brand priorities and local community interests. Provide on site support for events, activations, and installations, initially targeting one to two events per month with opportunity to expand.
Drive Community Engagement and Partnerships: Identify and build relationships with key community partners, local organizations, and the Chamber of Commerce to increase awareness of the store and its offerings. Represent the brand at local events and lead outreach tied to promotions and initiatives.
Manage "Always On" Marketing Activities: Support budget management, reporting, and forecasting. Maintain inventory of in store marketing materials and support new store openings and ad hoc store initiatives as needed.
Measure, Recap, and Recommend: Analyze results of events and campaigns, capture learnings and customer feedback, and provide strategic recommendations to improve future performance.
Operate as "One Team": You will support Wayfair's total store goals by cross-training across key store functions, including sales and back-of-house operations. Youll flex where needed to support customers, teammates, store needs and peak business periods.

Community Marketing Expertise: Demonstrated success developing and executing community marketing strategies while forecasting impact, analyzing results, and making data driven recommendations.
Cross Functional Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively within a matrixed environment and influence a variety of partners and stakeholders.
Project and Time Management Strength: Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously with strong organization and follow through.
Presentation and Communication Skills: Comfort developing recap materials, presenting results, representing the brand publicly, and engaging with community leaders.
Local Market Connection: Strong connection to the local community and understanding of what resonates with the customer demographic.
Partnership Experience: Experience working with the Chamber of Commerce and other local business organizations.
Digital and Reporting Proficiency: Familiarity with Google Suite tools and reporting platforms such as Looker, or an eagerness to learn.
Retail and Customer Metrics Understanding: Working knowledge of retail math and customer marketing metrics including traffic, conversion, AOV, acquisition, and retention.
Flexibility and Hands On Support: Willingness to attend activations outside of core hours and transport or set up materials needed for events.
Budget Ownership: Experience managing budgets, forecasting expenses, and tracking performance.
Additional Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.
Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.
Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.
Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.
Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.
Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards-must adhere to all safety protocols.
