Client Overview:
Our client, a rapidly growing specialty biopharmaceutical organization, is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to support a late-stage pipeline focused on complex and underserved disease areas. The company is entering a pivotal phase of growth and commercialization and is building out a highly collaborative legal and business infrastructure to support future product launches. This organization offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with executive leadership, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs teams in a highly visible strategic role. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$265k - $295k plus Additional Bonus + Long-term incentive potential

Position Overview:
The Senior Commercial Counsel will serve as a strategic legal advisor supporting product development, launch readiness, commercialization initiatives, and ongoing market expansion activities. The Senior Commercial Counsel will partner closely with Commercial, Regulatory, Clinical, and Executive Leadership teams to provide practical legal guidance across the product lifecycle. This Senior Commercial Counsel opportunity is ideal for an Attorney who has experience supporting branded pharmaceutical launches within biotech or specialty pharma environments and who thrives in a highly collaborative business-facing role. The Senior Commercial Counsel will play a key role in helping guide the organization through critical commercialization milestones while ensuring compliance with evolving healthcare regulations. The Senior Commercial Counsel will also support promotional review, market access agreements, compliance initiatives, and strategic risk assessments tied to commercial operations and development-stage programs.

Responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Counsel:
  • Provide legal counsel related to commercialization strategy, launch preparation, and product lifecycle initiatives.
  • Advise business stakeholders on healthcare regulatory matters, promotional review, scientific exchange, and commercial operations.
  • Support branded pharmaceutical launch activities and cross-functional launch readiness initiatives.
  • Review advertising, promotional, digital, and medical communication materials.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and clinical agreements, including vendor and market access contracts.
  • Partner with Internal Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Clinical teams on strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and provide practical business-oriented solutions.
  • Advise on healthcare compliance matters, including FDA regulations, privacy considerations, and commercial practices.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of internal legal and compliance processes.
  • Support executive leadership on strategic legal initiatives tied to organizational growth and commercialization efforts.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Commercial Counsel:
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6+ years of legal experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare environments.
  • Prior experience supporting branded pharmaceutical commercialization activities required.
  • Understanding of product launch strategy, promotional review, and healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Commercial Counsel:
  • Prior experience within growth-stage biotech or specialty pharmaceutical companies is preferred.
  • Experience advising commercial teams within biotech or specialty pharma organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Additional healthcare compliance or regulatory experience is considered a plus.
Education Requirements:
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited Law School is required.
