Unlike larger organizations, you'll work directly with machinists, programmers, and leadership to improve setup efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, standardize processes, and improve first-pass yield.RoleThis is not a pure programming role and not an operator role. The right candidate will be able to look at a print and determine:How the part should be manufacturedSequence of operationsSetup strategyWorkholding and fixturingTooling approachMachine allocationInspection considerationsRisk areas before productionPrimary ResponsibilitiesProcess Planning & Setup StrategyDevelop machining process plans for aerospace componentsDetermine optimal sequence of operations for complex machined partsDesign and standardize setup sheets and routing instructionsDefine datums, setup logic, and manufacturing strategyIdentify manufacturability concerns before release to productionlCNC Manufacturing SupportCollaborate with CNC programmers and machinists to prove out jobsDetermine optimal machine selection for productionRecommend tooling and workholding strategiesReduce setup times and improve repeatabilityTroubleshoot manufacturing issues and bottlenecksContinuous ImprovementStandardize repeatable machining practicesImprove throughput, quality, and cycle efficiencyReduce scrap and reworkEstablish process documentation and best practicesCross-Functional CollaborationWork with quality, engineering, programmers, and machinistsSupport first article inspection and production readinessDrive process consistency across CNC operationsRequired QualificationsActive Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance7+ years of CNC machining manufacturing engineering experienceAerospace machining experience strongly preferredStrong experience with multi-axis CNC machining (3/4/5-axis preferred)Experience with Mazak equipment preferredStrong understanding of setup planning, fixturing and workholding, GD&T, tolerancing, machining strategy, and process routingAbility to read engineering prints and independently develop machining plansPreferred QualificationsExperience in high-mix, low-volume aerospace manufacturingFamiliarity with CAM software (Mastercam, NX, HyperMill, Fusion, Esprit, or similar)Experience supporting first article and production transferExperience improving manufacturing flow and setup reductionWhat Success Looks LikeSetups become predictable and repeatableLess tribal knowledge, more documented processReduced machine downtime between jobsBetter planning before parts hit the floorOperators spend more time machining and less time figuring out how to run the jobImproved throughput and fewer production surprisesThis is a full‑time salaried position with highly competitive compensation based on experience and skills, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth.
