Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is actively seeking Senior Clinicians to become an integral part of a growing continuum of behavioral health care services. This posting is for two new Programs, Crisis Stabilization (23 hour, 59 min stay) is a short term, high intensity program that accepts walk ins and first responder drop offs for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Crisis Residential (7 day stay) is a voluntary and involuntary program for psychiatric stabilization. Responsibilities include participation as a member of a multidisciplinary integrated care team, medical and psychiatric evaluation and management, supporting and following legal requirements, de-escalation and crisis intervention, engagement in milieu, and care coordination. May also have supervisory duties of clinical staff.

All employees for this position within the Crisis Stabilization program will be expected to successfully complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills training upon hire. 

 

Qualifications:

SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

  1. Master’s degree in behavioral health field including Counseling, Psychology or Social Work; or PhD or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  2. Current License as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW or Psychologist.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
  4. Two (2) years of clinical experience post licensure in a multidisciplinary environment OR demonstrated proficiency as a BHC II, Clinician II, or Crisis Clinician.
  5. Obtain an Approved Counselor Supervisor Certification from the Alaska Board of Professional Counselors within two years of hire.
