Ownership. Impact. Infrastructure.

Are you ready to be more than just an employee? Join Thompson & Litton, a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) firm where your work directly sustains the health and growth of our communities. We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer specialized in water and wastewater systems to lead projects from initial concept through to final commissioning. If you're looking for a firm where you can own your projects and your future, let's talk.

The Role: Engineering for the Future

As a Project Engineer, you will be the technical lead on vital infrastructure projects. You will:

  • Design & Innovate: Lead the design of water distribution, sewer collection, and treatment plant projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and WaterCAD.
  • Lead Project Lifecycles: Oversee feasibility studies, conceptual layouts, and the preparation of technical specifications and cost estimates.
  • Ensure Excellence: Conduct rigorous QA/QC reviews to ensure every project meets municipal, state, and federal regulatory standards.
  • Be a Partner to Clients: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and aligned with community needs.
  • Mentor the Next Generation: Use your expertise to train and guide junior engineers in design excellence and project management.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 4–10+ years in civil engineering, with a focused background in water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Credentials: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligibility to sit for the exam within the next 6–12 months.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Tech Proficiency: High-level skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and WaterCAD.

Preferred Expertise

  • Direct experience in the design of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP).
  • Familiarity with agency funding regulations and municipal infrastructure procedures.

Why Thompson & Litton?

  • Employee-Owned (ESOP): Work for a company where you are a shareholder. We invest in our people because our people own the firm.
  • Meaningful Work: We don't just build; we provide essential services—clean water and reliable infrastructure—to the regions we call home.
  • Stability & Growth: Benefit from a multi-office network that offers the resources of a large firm with the collaborative feel of a close-knit team.
  • Comprehensive Rewards: Competitive compensation, 401(k) matching, top-tier health/dental insurance, and a generous PTO policy.

If you're looking for a place to make a meaningful impact on communities, we want to hear from you!
