Description

The Power Division focuses on the design and construction of power generation facilities, including fossil, hydrogen, solar, nuclear, and energy storage. Our experience also covers other types of heavy industrial facilities, such as decarbonization, mining, and gas compression. The project diversity that the Power Division offers a wide range of design, project execution, and construction experience. In the Phoenix office, the Power team supports projects in Gas & Heavy Industrial, Mining, and Renewables business lines, offering the opportunity to gain a broad exposure to multiple industries.

Senior Civil Engineer

The Senior Civil Engineer will lead civil design project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects, including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.

Lead Civil Design

Lead civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements set forth by the project managers.

Prepare Civil Equipment, Packaged Equipment, and Construction Specifications and Data Sheets

Prepare civil equipment, packaged equipment, and construction specifications and data sheets, including Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.

Review Civil Vendor Drawings and Interface with Suppliers, Clients, and Other Engineering Disciplines

Review civil vendor drawings, interface with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines, and detailers, designers.

Participate in Development of Project Schedule, Scope, Budget, Staffing, Planning, and Construction Planning

Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.

Build Effective Relationships and Develop New Business Opportunities

Participate in Sales and Marketing Efforts

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. May also have a bachelors degree in engineering technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

A Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Minimum of 7 years civil engineering experience required.

EPC project experience strongly preferred.

Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong computer skills, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM, Revit, Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD, and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.

Ability to travel.

Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred.

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $130,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
