Tasks include civil engineering calculations, field work, task coordination, and client interaction.Your Key ResponsibilitiesProviding mentoring and training for junior staff.Promoting collaboration and teamwork across business lines and geographies.Contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.Serving as Engineer‑of‑Record on projects.Assisting in developing project scope, budgets, and design for various sized projects, supporting marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.Assisting with establishing project objectives, procedures, and performance standards, and leading multi-disciplinary teams on proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services for multi‑disciplinary engineering projects.Supervising the work of other engineers, including setting priorities for their scope of work, their budgets and their schedules for completing the work.Leading project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub‑contractors, and vendors.Maintaining and enhancing our reputation with clients, approval agencies, and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider.Developing client relationships to facilitate project activities.Growing internal and external networks to enhance Stantec's reputation and identifying additional talent to join our team.Remaining current on regulatory policy and rule changes and may establish working relationships with regulatory officials.Working in a manner to protect the health and safety of Stantec employees, clients, and the public by following company health, safety and security guidelines and policies.Engaging in leadership in Professional organizations that align with expertise, writing technical papers, and delivering technical presentations for conference and symposia events.Capabilities and CredentialsEffective communicator able to work on and lead teams.Ability to communicate and build relationships with clients.Understanding of client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, and producing high‑quality deliverables.Efficient project management/technical leadership of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.Leads, participates, and collaborates in a project team setting and engages in creative and critical thought.Technical expert in many relevant areas of design and understanding of various design and construction methods.Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of design and construction codes.Strong presentation and interview skills.Requires an understanding of Microsoft Office, as well as relevant discipline software programs, which may include GeoStudio, FLAC, Plaxis, AutoCAD Civil3D, PCSWMMM, HydroCAD, or other software.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one jurisdiction with the ability to obtain reciprocity in others, as needed.Minimum of 10 years of experience.Ability to travel 10–20% of the time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
