Senior Circular Economy Parts Recovery Analyst

Overview / Summary

The Senior Circular Economy Parts Recovery Analyst is responsible for leading the identification, recovery, and monetization of service parts, cores, and production scrap across powertrain and non-powertrain commodities. This role partners with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and external recovery suppliers to maximize reuse opportunities, reduce scrap exposure, support compliance initiatives, and drive financial recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee parts recovery activities for plant scrap material, including identification, segregation, and disposition.
  • Coordinate cross-functional decision-making with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to determine reuse, repurpose, repair, recycle, or core recovery pathways.
  • Manage repair and recovery suppliers, including onboarding, scope alignment, performance monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Lead quality assurance activities to ensure recovered or repaired parts meet specifications, traceability, packaging, and labeling requirements.
  • Support supplier and process audits, including documentation, follow-up actions, and closure activities.
  • Manage part change impacts, including engineering change notices, supersessions, and disposition alignment with stakeholders.
  • Develop and standardize work instructions, process controls, and reporting methods to improve recovery rates and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze recovery opportunities using inventory data, demand signals, obsolescence risk, and quality metrics to prioritize high-value actions.
  • Communicate recovery status, risks, and recommendations to leadership teams.
  • Mentor junior analysts and support continuous improvement initiatives across recovery operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–2 years of project management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in parts recovery, remanufacturing, quality, supplier management, plant operations, or a related automotive/industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of part lifecycle management concepts, including change notices, supersessions, and obsolescence.
  • Understanding of basic quality systems, including inspection, nonconformance, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external suppliers to execute operational initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret inventory and operational data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present recommendations to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting circular economy programs, including repair/reuse, plant scrap recovery, and core management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with supplier audit frameworks and quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto Analysis, and FMEA.
  • Experience working with overseas or remote teams.
  • Knowledge of automotive service parts, remanufacturing, and core return programs.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems or inventory/material disposition platforms.
