Essential Job Functions:
- Source and procure indirect materials, equipment, for assigned manufacturing facilities.
- Issue and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of required materials.
- Support supplier selection activities in alignment with Corporate Purchasing strategies and approved supplier lists.
- Assist with supplier negotiations related to pricing, delivery, and service levels.
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers supporting plant operations.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
- Address and resolve supplier performance issues in coordination with Corporate
- Cost and Process Management
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities related to indirect materials and services.
- Support corporate initiatives related to supplier consolidation, spend management, and purchasing standardization across facilities.
- Conduct basic cost and market analyses to support sourcing decisions.
- Compliance and Systems Management
- Ensure procurement activities comply with corporate procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and procurement records.
- Manage open purchase orders and maintain data accuracy within the ERP system.
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, and production teams at both facilities to identify material needs and purchasing priorities.
- Provide updates on order status, potential delays, and supply risks.
- Coordinate with Corporate Purchasing to ensure alignment with enterprise procurement strategies.
- Prepare routine reports related to purchasing activity, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, cost opportunities, and operational improvements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Indirect purchasing is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations is desirable.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Working knowledge of indirect materials and industrial suppliers.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with plant operations and corporate procurement teams.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to walk manufacturing floors and interact with plant personnel as required.
- Ability to travel as needed.
