Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in process mapping, business requirements gathering, application testing, and compliance with formal change management policies. This role involves supporting the Commodity Risk Management business area, leading requirements workshops, and providing innovative solutions to enhance IT and business processes. The successful candidate will work closely with internal business partners, IT personnel, and external service providers to implement and maintain systems that meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and lead requirements workshops for large and complex projects.
- Analyze and document internal business systems, problems, processes, and needs.
- Define business requirements and test cases using structured methodologies.
- Lead documentation of business requirements, test cases, use cases, and design thinking exercises.
- Provide written and verbal updates on projects and solutions to IT and business management.
- Act as a consultant to internal business partners regarding technology and process solutions.
- Develop and implement viable technology solutions in collaboration with IT groups, external service providers, and business partners.
- Provide application and system support for multiple systems used by internal business partners.
- Perform Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance control execution and evidence gathering.
- Support projects and troubleshooting efforts as needed.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience supporting technology projects and applications as a senior business analyst.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or computer engineering.
- Experience developing process maps, gathering business requirements, and application testing.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as a lead BSA on capital projects and Operations & Maintenance efforts.
- Experience providing second and third-level support for IT inquiries.
- Data analysis skills and experience troubleshooting application functions.
- Experience working with compliance and regulations (e.g., NERC CIP, SOX).
- Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum environments, regulatory/compliance settings, and the utility industry.
- IT experience in a large-scale environment across multiple hardware and software platforms.
