Senior Business Development Sales Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Business Development Manager — Florida / Georgia expands regional business development activity across industrial, marine, and maritime-support markets. The role places particular emphasis on port facilities, shipyards, marine terminals, waterfront infrastructure, industrial plants, and adjacent logistics or energy assets. The position accelerates growth in industrial services and field solutions while building a strong presence in maritime support environments where facility maintenance, environmental services, emergency response, and specialized project execution are valued.

Position Details

• Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

Location: Florida (including coastal markets) and Georgia

• Position Type: Full-Time Exempt - Salaried $110,000

Travel: Frequent regional travel; estimated 50–60%

Strategic Intent

This position grows strategic account relationships across Florida and Georgia in two connected arenas: industrial operations requiring recurring field support, and maritime customers such as shipyards, terminals, port operators, vessel-support contractors, and waterfront infrastructure owners. The role positions the company as the preferred specialty service partner for customers managing maintenance, repair, emergency response, environmental compliance, and project support in complex marine and industrial operating settings.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional business development strategy across Florida and Georgia for industrial, maritime, environmental, and emergency response services.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across shipyards, ports, terminals, industrial facilities, and contractors.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities in maintenance, project support, remediation, marine operations, emergency response, and recurring services.
  • Lead key account planning to grow share of wallet and increase early engagement in customer planning cycles.
  • Collaborate with operations and technical teams to deliver integrated solutions across safety, compliance, environmental, and maintenance needs.
  • Support capture and proposal efforts for large-scale maritime and industrial projects.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline tracking, and market intelligence.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings and industry events to drive visibility and growth.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Environmental Science, Maritime Studies, or related field required.
  • 5–7 years of experience in business development, account management, or sales within industrial, marine, environmental, or related technical services.
  • Proven success working with ports, shipyards, terminals, industrial facilities, or other asset-intensive clients.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM required; familiarity with other platforms (e.g., PecWeb, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, SAP, Fieldglass, Procore) preferred.
  • Understanding of maintenance-driven buying cycles, safety-focused environments, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel 50–60% across Florida and Georgia including coastal markets, ports, terminals and industrial corridors.

Preferred Background

  • Experience supporting capture, proposals, and complex multi-stakeholder pursuits.
  • Familiarity with defense-adjacent, shipbuilding, or Navy/Coast Guard environments in the Southeast.
  • Existing relationships with port authorities, marine contractors, or waterfront asset owners in Florida or Georgia preferred.
  • Knowledge of OPA 90, environmental response contracting, and USCG/EPA procurement requirements.
  • Understanding of safety-sensitive industrial environments and HSE-driven procurement.

Key Performance Expectations

  • Grow strategic account coverage across Florida and Georgia industrial and maritime markets.
  • Increase qualified pipeline from shipyards, terminals, marine infrastructure operators, and industrial accounts requiring recurring or project-based support.
  • Expand the company's position as a trusted specialty partner for field execution, environmental response, and maintenance-support solutions in maritime and industrial settings.
  • Deliver measurable growth in opportunity volume, account penetration, and regional revenue contribution.

About Ambipar

Ambipar is a global leader in environmental solutions, crisis management, emergency response, and industrial services — operating across more than 500 bases in 40 countries and employing over 17,000 professionals worldwide. Founded on the principle that preparedness and response are inseparable, Ambipar's integrated service model spans the full lifecycle of environmental and operational risk: prevention, preparation, response, and ongoing maintenance.

In North America, Ambipar delivers an end-to-end platform that unifies field execution, emergency response, advisory services, and compliance under a single integrated organization. That platform encompasses Ambipar's industrial and environmental field services — including hazmat response, industrial cleaning, confined space entry, hydro excavation, automated tank cleaning, environmental remediation, and specialty turnaround support — alongside high-consequence emergency response capabilities. Together, these capabilities give clients a single partner that is equally capable of executing in the field and navigating the regulatory, compliance, and recovery frameworks that surround complex environmental and industrial events.

Ambipar's core service lines in North America include:

  • Emergency Response — 24/7 hazmat, spill, fire, rescue, and medical response across all transport modes and operating environments
  • Industrial Services — turnaround and outage support, confined space entry, hydroblasting, vacuum services, automated tank cleaning, exchanger work, and hazmat standby
  • Environmental Services — site assessment, remediation and reclamation, soil and groundwater monitoring, waste management, and decommissioning

About Our Southeast / Gulf Coast & South Atlantic Regional Operations

Ambipar has built a purposeful and growing operational presence across the Southeast and South Atlantic corridor — a region that represents one of the most active industrial, maritime, and environmental services markets in the country. With established operations and response bases anchored in Birmingham, Alabama; Mobile, Alabama; Decatur, Alabama; Savannah, Georgia; and Jacksonville, Florida, Ambipar is positioned as a pre-deployed, regionally rooted partner — not a travel-in contractor — for the refineries, petrochemical facilities, advanced manufacturers, ports, terminals, shipyards, and industrial operators that depend on consistent, high-quality field execution and rapid emergency response.

This regional density enables Ambipar to deliver faster mobilization, deeper client relationships, and more reliable service continuity across the industrial corridors of the Gulf Coast, the Southeast manufacturing belt, and the maritime infrastructure of Florida and Georgia's coastal markets. As Ambipar continues to grow its North American footprint, the Southeast and South Atlantic corridor remains a strategic priority — and the Senior Business Development Manager roles being filled are central to that expansion.
