    Job Title: Senior Business Analyst

    Position Summary

    The Senior Business Analyst leads requirements analysis and documentation for an Agile software delivery team supporting a large-scale technology platform. This role works with business stakeholders, Product Owners, technical teams, and other delivery participants to understand complex business and regulatory needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements.

    The Senior Business Analyst develops epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, data flows, and workflow requirements that enable development and testing teams to deliver effective solutions. This role also supports backlog refinement, user acceptance testing, and deliverable validation while mentoring junior analysts and leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of business analysis activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation of complex business and functional requirements.
    • Work with business stakeholders and Product Owners to understand business objectives, regulatory needs, operational processes, and solution expectations.
    • Translate business and regulatory requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other actionable delivery artifacts.
    • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, process-review sessions, and collaborative analysis discussions.
    • Develop and maintain business process models, workflow diagrams, data flows, and supporting requirements documentation.
    • Collaborate with Product Owners to refine, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog.
    • Ensure user stories are clear, complete, testable, and ready for development.
    • Partner with Technical Leads, architects, developers, QA engineers, and other delivery team members to clarify requirements and resolve gaps or inconsistencies.
    • Identify and document business rules, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and impacts associated with proposed solutions.
    • Support user acceptance testing by developing test scenarios, validating expected outcomes, and coordinating stakeholder acceptance.
    • Review requirements and analysis artifacts prepared by junior analysts and provide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback.
    • Maintain alignment and traceability between business needs, requirements, user stories, test scenarios, and delivered functionality.
    • Leverage AI-assisted tools to support requirements analysis, documentation, process modeling, quality reviews, and productivity.
    • Communicate requirements, decisions, risks, and dependencies clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

    Minimum Experience

    • 7+ years of professional business analysis experience supporting information technology programs.
    • Experience eliciting, analyzing, modeling, and documenting complex business requirements.
    • Experience developing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in an Agile delivery environment.
    • Experience working with both business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
    • Experience supporting backlog management and user acceptance testing activities.

    • Experience with requirements traceability and user acceptance testing.
    • Familiarity with AI-assisted business analysis and documentation tools.
    • Experience modeling data flows and cross-functional business processes.

    Degrees and Certifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

    Preferred

    • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
    • PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
    • Agile Analysis, Scrum, or Product Owner certification.
