Senior Building Maintenance Technician
Bring your commercial/industrial building repair and maintenance expertise to The Landers Company. You’ll oversee the facility and property needs for multiple vehicle dealerships and their related buildings plus a collision center. Compensation based on experience.
We need an experienced candidate (8-10 years) with the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise and advanced working knowledge of most major building systems-HVAC, plumbing, electrical, equipment, fire suppression, roofing, doors and hardware, generators, furniture & millwork, overhead garage doors-traditional and high-speed, etc.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand and electrical tools and test equipment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance measures.
- Knowledge of basic life safety systems.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, understand system schematics and confidently troubleshoot with positive results.
- Ability to learn and utilize the company work ticketing system.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training or certifications in HVAC, electrical or plumbing highly preferred.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds, being on your feet for long periods and working in various weather conditions, ability to climb ladders, working knowledge of operating a scissors lift and forklift.
- A positive attitude to serve the needs of our stores with the ability to work well with supervisor, guests, peers, corporate partners, and vendors.
You will be responsible for:
- Daily maintenance and repair issues-responding to the work orders, troubleshoot the cause and execute the repair or arrange for it if it is outside the scope of your expertise.
- Conducting facility rounds checking for items that need attention including but not limited to: mechanical rooms, roofs, service shops, locker rooms, car wash equipment and pressure washers, compressors mechanical equipment, shop equipment including overhead hose reels and hose guns, oil/fluid distribution lines, carpentry, drywall patching, painting, door and window systems, lock repair, and flooring repair, etc.
- Equipment inspections, changing filters, repairing as needed, etc.
- Coordinating with outside contractors for specialty work as needed managing the scope and timeline of that work.
- Ensuring regulatory and safety compliance including OSHA, EPA, and local building codes and regulations.
- Conduct routine testing and maintenance of fire suppression systems, emergency lighting , carbon monoxide sensors, eye-wash stations, etc.
- Additional facility related issues as needed and requested by supervisor relative to the care, maintenance and repair of our facilities.
- Manage and oversee building maintenance personnel.
