Build iconic infrastructure. Lead with purpose. Shape the future of mobility.

At Jacobs, we're not just designing bridges - we're connecting communities, driving innovation, and shaping the future of infrastructure. As the Utah Bridge Lead and a key leader within our Bridge Team, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering transformative transportation projects across Utah, the broader West Central Region, and beyond. From high speed rail to alternative delivery megaprojects, your impact will be felt locally and nationally.

In this role, you'll lead our Utah Bridge Team, guide the execution of complex bridge projects, pursue new opportunities, and collaborate closely with our broader geography bridge team. Working alongside a multidisciplinary group of engineers, technicians, and contractors, you'll bring structures-specific expertise to projects that challenge convention and strengthen the communities we serve.

You'll also partner directly with contractors on alternative delivery pursuits helping shape solutions for structures and other critical transportation infrastructure. In a collaborative environment where every voice is valued, you'll lead a team committed to solving problems, advancing innovation, and delivering what's next.

If you're ready to bridge the gap between our world and our people, join Jacobs. Together, let's build for a brighter future.

Our Utah Bridge Lead will:

  • Lead bridge engineering efforts - from developing innovative design solutions to delivering high quality projects through all phases, from concept to construction.
  • Prepare and oversee technical deliverables, including calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages, while ensuring rigorous quality reviews.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to mid level and junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth oriented team environment.
  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, and workloads with Project Managers, Design Leads, and Senior Bridge Engineers to ensure seamless execution.
  • Pursue and support alternative delivery projects (DB and CM/GC) and proposal development efforts across Utah.
  • Engage in business development by collaborating with client account managers, cultivating client relationships, and identifying opportunities that align with client needs.

If you want to join a company invested in you, your success and the global community - join us as our Utah Bridge Lead.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Utah PE license (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
  • 15+ years of bridge-focused engineering experience, including leading large, multidisciplinary bridge projects and teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills, with proven experience coordinating engineers and technicians.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, FHWA guidelines, and UDOT standards and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Established working relationships with UDOT.

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Proven Bridge Lead experience on alternative‑delivery pursuits and projects, including DB, PDB, and CM/GC.
  • Broad bridge design expertise across multiple structure types—precast and steel bridges, light‑rail and high‑speed rail structures, widenings, rehabilitations, load ratings, and seismic‑area bridge design.
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities, including proposal strategy and writing.
  • Project or task management experience from initiation through execution and closeout.
