The AWS Global Brand Team is seeking an experienced, strategic, and entrepreneurial Senior Brand Lead to serve as the embedded brand expert supporting the Developer Marketing team. This role brings deep brand expertise-positioning, narrative, creative strategy, and brand governance-to high-impact marketing initiatives targeting the global developer audience. Sitting at the intersection of brand and developer marketing, you will ensure that every developer touchpoint reflects a consistent, compelling, and differentiated AWS brand experience.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned brand marketer who brings both brand creative vision and operational rigor. You have a deep understanding of how brands are built and sustained across audiences, and you are passionate about applying that expertise to the developer community. You will partner closely with the Developer Marketing team to translate brand strategy into developer-relevant campaigns (either currently live, in production, or net new), ensure creative excellence and brand consistency across all initiatives, and help the team connect long-term brand building with measurable business outcomes. This role requires someone who can operate as a trusted brand advisor-defining positioning, shaping narratives, and elevating creative quality-while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key job responsibilities

Serve as the brand lead for the Developer Marketing team's innovation programs. Bring brand expertise to creative ideation, ensure campaigns align with AWS brand positioning and voice, and elevate the quality and consistency of marketing activations targeting developer audiences.

Define and maintain brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and creative guidelines specific to developer audiences, ensuring consistency across all marketing activations

Partner with the Developer Advocate team and Developer Marketing leads to shape campaign narratives, validate creative concepts, and ensure brand alignment from ideation through execution

Bring brand expertise to marketing approaches, helping the team push creative boundaries while maintaining brand integrity and establishing AWS as the most developer-loved cloud brand

Develop brand measurement frameworks and creative quality standards for developer marketing initiatives, partnering with insights teams to track brand health, sentiment, and preference among developer audiences

Cross-Cutting Responsibilities

Serve as the brand expert across the developer marketing portfolio, ensuring creative excellence and brand consistency from planning through execution

Drive brand evaluation and creative quality reviews within the developer marketing team's initiatives, working with D:SE, Customer Research, Developer Relations, Creative, and Senior Leaders

Own brand guidelines, positioning documents, and messaging architecture for the developer audience; keep them current as market and brand evolves

Contribute brand perspectives to cadenced reporting and narratives (MBR, QBR, PR/FAQ) and present brand performance insights to senior leaders up to Director level

Influence partner team roadmaps and creative direction, ensuring brand coherence across Developer Marketing, Events, Advertising, and Social teams

Act as a brand mentor for Campaign Project Managers (CPMs) and junior marketers, building brand capability across the team

Actively develop and champion brand best practices, playbooks, and training for the broader developer marketing organization

About the Company

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
