We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.As a BMS Electrical Engineer, you will own hardware designs for Archer's high voltage battery management system.ResponsibilitiesLead design of BMS PCBAs, through their full lifecycle - including circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, routing, reviews, manufacturing, and revisionsWork closely with mechanical and software teams, from the beginning of the design process, to ensure that our BMS hardware seamlessly integrates into the battery packDesign circuits for diagnostic coverage, redundancy, and fault‑tolerance - working closely with systems and safety teams to ensure that our BMS hardware meets safety goalsOwn PCBA bring‑up and verification, working hands‑on with lab equipment to check that the design functions across all operating conditions and fault injection casesSupport software development related to new circuits and revisions, updating and authoring interface documents as neededCoordinate builds with PM team, DFM team, supply chain team, and quality teamSupport production & manufacturing needs, including design‑for‑test, root‑cause analysis of failures, component traceability, and build process developmentWork with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth integration of the battery pack with other electrical systems on the aircraftWork with BMS integration, software, and controls engineers to facilitate hardware fault injection tests on HILs and packsWhat You NeedBS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field3+ years of experience designing and verifying complex electrical circuitsExperience with high voltage battery systems and BMS electronicsExperienced in Altium Designer and circuit simulation tools such as LTSpiceDetailed knowledge of PCB design rules including IPC‑610 / 2221 / 2222Excellent organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skillsBonus QualificationsExperience designing for HV battery systems in both aviation and automotive contextsLayout experience with both flexible and rigid board stackupsExperience with new product development in regulated industries (e.g., aviation, medical devices)Experience with DO‑160G, ISO 26262, or related standardsExperience designing to industry standards for electromagnetic emissions and susceptibilityPlease note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of responsibilities and qualifications.Compensation: For this position we are targeting a base pay between $144,000 - $185,000.
