This full-time Biologist role is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, within the Earth and Environment Section, focusing on environmental impact assessment and permitting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of consulting experience, strong skills in botanical and wildlife surveys, and the ability to manage biological fieldwork including avian, wildlife, wetland, and T&E species, especially desert tortoise.
Responsibilities include supporting environmental projects related to transmission lines, renewable energy, pipelines, and transportation, serving as the main biological contact in southern Nevada, and conducting surveys and permitting across the western U.S.
Qualifications include a degree in Wildlife Biology or related field, excellent communication, analytical skills, ability to work independently or in teams, and a valid driver’s license with willingness to travel. Preferred qualifications include desert tortoise authorization, experience in energy projects, business development, and technical report writing.
