What We Can Achieve Together:

The Senior BI Analyst executes design and implementation of creative and effective data solutions to fulfill the requirements and strategic objectives of Conservancy business areas such as Finance, Human Resources, and Conservation programs. This is a highly collaborative role combining technical expertise and partnership acumen to provide guidance and recommendations in the strategic use of integrated data to illuminate insights and accelerate Conservancy impact. The Senior BI Analyst is technical lead on analytics projects of varying scope and complexity, and subject matter expert in their domains. They make recommendations that improve and strengthen end products and actively advance the Conservancy's application of AI-enhanced analytics solutions to improve efficiency, ensure scalability, and encourage a culture of data-driven decisions.

The Senior BI Analyst maintains and enhances a robust Power BI relational model of conservation program and financial data and metrics to ensure accuracy and functional integrity for measuring conservation progress against goals and financial components. The Senior BI Analyst designs and implements technical and process solutions, including activities such as investigating specific business questions, building enterprise dashboards, and delivering self-service analytics resources that empower business users.

This position is open remote in US.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and 5 years' experience in programming and systems design, or equivalent combination.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Databricks (DB SQL), M, DAX or similar language and data manipulation concepts (e.g., table joins, cardinality).
  • Experience building visualizations and dashboards with Microsoft Power BI, AWS Quick Sight, or similar BI tool.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams to design, document, and implement fit for purpose technical solutions, including communicating technical concepts to non-technical and leadership audiences.
  • Experience soliciting business requirements and translating desired business outcomes into technical specifications for engineering partners.
  • Experience with enterprise self-service paradigm, including data literacy enablement, and data governance principles.
  • Experience independently prioritizing multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional customer services skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing complex system-wide technical specifications and interfaces, troubleshooting and debugging data products, and producing effective user and technical documentation.
  • Experience working with relational databases, data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance.
  • Experience incorporating AI tools, such as machine-learning platforms, natural-language processing tools, or automation frameworks into analytical workflows.

Salary Information:

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $85,000 - $125,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
