If so, you may be our next Senior Avionics Cable Assembly Specialist.
What you’ll do
- Fabricate and terminate wiring harnesses for spacecraft and ground support equipment, including racks and avionics enclosures.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and bills of material.
- Follow build plans, record work in electronic systems, and maintain cleanroom discipline, PPE usage, and FOD/tool control.
- Partner with a team leader to organize tasks, escalate build issues early, and drive schedule adherence.
- Explain procedures and techniques to peers; mentor and cross‑train new hires.
- Pitch in on related tasks as assigned to keep the mission moving.

Required background
- 4+ years as a technician in aerospace or a comparable high‑reliability field.
- J‑STD‑001 (space) and NASA‑STD‑8739.4 certifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail; must pass a soldering and crimping assessment.
- Experience with hand tools and troubleshooting electronic assemblies.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Cleanroom experience and strong safety habits.
- Comfort using computer applications for build documentation.
Preferred background
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written/verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- MS Office proficiency.
- In‑process verification (2PV) experience.
- 4+ years working with manual and pneumatic crimpers; IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 familiarity.
Onsite, shift, and union
- 100% onsite; you may be assigned to any shift based on program needs. Primary coverage is second shift.
- Hourly, union‑represented role covered by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721).
- New hires and transfers from non‑union roles may need to complete training within a 90‑day probationary period; continued employment depends on successful completion.
- All candidates must complete our Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
Security and export
- Work is performed at an ITAR‑controlled facility; candidates must be U.S. Persons (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance (interim and/or final post‑start) and maintain clearance is required.
