Senior Aruba Network Engineer
Location: Vienna, VA
6 month contract-to-hire
$70 to $80 per hour contract with a conversion salary of $150K to $160K annually
Summary
We are seeking a Senior Aruba Network Engineer with deep expertise in Aruba enterprise networking technologies, including Aruba ClearPass, Aruba CX switching, and wireless infrastructure. This role will focus on designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network environments while partnering with clients and internal teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and support Aruba networking and wireless solutions
- Implement and manage Aruba ClearPass NAC environments
- Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, segmentation, QoS, and wireless connectivity
- Support 802.1X authentication, guest access, BYOD onboarding, and role-based access controls
- Integrate ClearPass with Active Directory, LDAP, PKI, MFA, and security platforms
- Perform network optimization, troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Create technical documentation, implementation plans, and network diagrams
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams on Zero Trust and segmentation initiatives
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers as needed
Requirements- Associates Degree or higher in IT, CS or related
- 7+ years of enterprise networking experience
- 3+ years of hands-on Aruba ClearPass experience
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing/switching, VLANs, NAC, RADIUS/TACACS+, and wireless networking
- Experience with Aruba CX switching and Aruba wireless platforms
- Experience integrating NAC solutions with identity and directory services
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to support occasional after-hours maintenance and travel up to 35%
Bonus Skills- Aruba certifications (ACSA, ACSP, ACCP, ACDX)
- Experience with Aruba Central, Dynamic Segmentation, or Zero Trust architectures
- Familiarity with Cisco, Arista, or Palo Alto environments
- Scripting or automation experience with Python, Ansible, or REST APIs
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms
