DNV Energy USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Analyst - Solar to work on a hybrid schedule in our Seattle, WA office.


Job Duties:

  • Conduct long-term solar resource and energy production assessments for all scales including utility-scale, distributed generation, residential, commercial & industrial, microgrids, and community solar.
  • Analyze climatic data and operational production and performance data from solar plants.
  • Conduct statistical uncertainty analyses, account for various modeling, and system losses including degradation, and derive component parameters for energy modeling.
  • Write technical reports and communicating results to Customers.
  • Manage solar energy assessment projects, including customer facing interaction, and data management.
  • Lead research, write papers, and present analysis on solar methods at industry conferences and workshops.
  • Collaborate and build networks with industry, academia, and national labs.
  • Lead Solar Modeling software development team.
  • Determine the business case for all suggested improvements implemented in Solar Modeling Software to lead to faster turnaround time on deliverables and increase automation of processes.
  • Prioritize all improvements and succinctly summarize in 12-month roadmap. Engage with all stakeholders e.g. energy analysts, internal and external, regional, global, and leadership.
  • Support the energy assessment team by providing training or troubleshooting for data analysis tools.
  • Together with the internal team, develop and maintain numerical analysis in Python or other computer programming languages.
  • Contribute to a diverse working environment, proactively communicate to all stakeholders, give and take feedback, work independently, be accountable for the work performed and delivered.
  • Requires 5% domestic, 5% international travel.
  • Role is hybrid allowing periodic work from home within a reasonable commuting distance of the Seattle, WA office.

Salary range: $140,920-$163,000/year
