Senior Active Directory / Entra Engineer - 3560934

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Active Directory / Entra Infrastructure Engineer position! This is a 9+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY (onsite 4 days per week). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C

Position Overview

This role serves as an advanced technologist responsible for supporting and maintaining Active Directory and Entra (Azure AD) infrastructure within a large enterprise environment. The engineer will work closely with technology leadership, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions, support infrastructure initiatives, and maintain secure, reliable identity services. The position also supports infrastructure modernization projects including application architecture changes and data center migration efforts.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support and maintain Active Directory and Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) infrastructure
• Provide day-to-day support for SSO integrations and identity services
• Manage service principal name (SPN) generation and configuration
• Perform account setup and identity management tasks
• Support server builds and domain integrations
• Add and retire servers within Active Directory domains
• Perform ongoing server maintenance and AD administration
• Assist with infrastructure initiatives including application re-architecture and data center relocation projects
• Participate in an on-call rotation (1 week every ~10 weeks) for identity infrastructure support
• Work closely with technology leadership and engineering teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders when required
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture documentation, and standards
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical documentation or proposals from less experienced staff
• Collaborate with business partners to understand technical needs and translate them into solutions

What You’ll Need to Have

• Strong experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra (Azure AD)
• Experience supporting large-scale technical initiatives and infrastructure projects
• Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams
• Experience supporting SSO implementations and identity infrastructure
• Experience with server builds, domain management, and server lifecycle administration
• Strong troubleshooting and on-call support experience
• Ability to gather, analyze, and document technical and system requirements
• Strong understanding of server/client and virtual technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in technical engineering or infrastructure design
• Experience with system architecture, infrastructure design, and enterprise environments
• Experience documenting technical architecture and operational standards

Pay Range: $65 - $73/hr
