The Senior Accounts Payable & Accounting Analyst is a hands-on accounting role responsible for end-to-end accounts payable operations while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and limited financial planning activities. This role partners closely with purchasing, operations, and finance to ensure accurate vendor payments, clean financial records, and timely reporting in a manufacturing environment.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the VP of Finance & Administration and takes day-to-day direction from the Accounting Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Own the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, matching, coding, approvals, and payment execution
Manage vendor relationships, resolve invoice discrepancies, and respond to vendor inquiries
Ensure proper coding of expenses to G/L accounts, cost centers, and projects
Maintain AP controls and ensure compliance with company policies
Support continuous improvement of AP processes, systems, and documentation
Assist with 1099 reporting and audit requests related to AP
Prepare and post journal entries, including but not limited to accruals and AP-related adjustments
Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger
Support month-end and year-end close activities
Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned
Tracks and manages USE tax obligations.
Ensure accurate expense recognition and cutoff
Prepare standard AP and expense-related reports for management
Support cost tracking and analysis related to manufacturing operations
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
Help identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control
Back up for payroll processing
Assist with budget preparation and forecasting for operating expenses
Support departmental expense tracking against budget
Provide data and analysis to support planning initiatives as needed
Undertakes additional tasks as delegated.
Education, Experience, Certifications:
Education:
Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school required.
Experience:
5-7 years or more related experience and/or training required.
Travel:
