    Location: Tempe, ArizonaDepartment: Corporate Finance / AccountingRole PurposeThe Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in support of renewable energy projects and corporate activities. This role manages a team responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, strengthens internal controls, and partners cross-functionally to support project accounting, close processes, financial reporting and audits.The Senior Accounting Manager plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting operational scalability as the organization grows. This role is part of a global team working toward common goals. We operate as one company, across all locations, with shared responsibility and clear accountability.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple U.S. and Canadian entities, project SPVs, and joint ventures.Lead, supervise, and mentor accounting and accounts payable staff, providing guidance, training, performance feedback, and development support, to elevate team capabilities.Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes as well as corresponding tasks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with company policies, and regulatory requirementsPerform technical accounting research to document and conclude accounting position as needed and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal global accounting policies, including technical areas such as:Revenue recognition for PPAs and long‑term contractsConstruction‑in‑progress and capitalization of project costsLease accounting for land, equipment, and infrastructure assetsAsset retirement obligations and decommissioning liabilitiesReview and interpret legal agreements as needed to determine accounting impact and corresponding journey entries.Perform various analysis to support business needs.Coordinate accounting activities related to renewable energy projects, and collaboration with multiple departments and operations teams.Support the preparation of various internal and external reports, and ad-hoc analyses for leadership.Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and financial accuracy.Partner with AP, Consolidation, tax, procurement, and finance/Controlling teams to ensure end-to-end accounting alignment.Support tax function and provide information needed for federal, state, and renewable‑energy‑specific tax filings and incentives, and oversee and prepare the tax accounting entries based on reports from tax advisors or internal tax teamSupport internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and timely responses.Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and scalability within accounting operations.Assist with ERP system management and enhancements, including testing, implementation, and process documentation.Education & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.CPA required.Experience & Technical Skills5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Experience in renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, or utilities industries strongly preferred.Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.Experience supporting audits, month-end close cycles, and financial reporting deadlines.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and support accounting automation initiatives.Detail-oriented leader committed to accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.Collaborative and adaptable, able to support a growing and evolving organization.Strong sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability.Ability to balance hands-on execution with team leadership and strategic thinking.Passion for supporting sustainable growth through strong financial foundations.Company CultureWe believe in a culture of trust, shared goals, and accountability.
