Title: Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Compensation: $150-175k base salary + bonus + equity + comprehensive benefits

Overview:
An innovative biotechnology company is seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting to join its finance organization. This is a high visibility opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong technical accounting background who is looking to transition into or continue growing within industry and take on a strategic, impactful role in a collaborative environment.

The company offers exposure to complex accounting matters, executive leadership, and cross functional initiatives supporting the advancement of innovative therapies and scientific technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting position memos related to complex transactions under US GAAP

• Provide guidance on revenue recognition, stock compensation, leases, debt arrangements, acquisitions, and other technical accounting matters

• Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and related disclosures

• Partner closely with FP&A, legal, operations, and executive leadership to evaluate accounting implications of strategic initiatives

• Oversee aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process related to technical accounting and financial reporting

• Drive implementation of new accounting standards and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements

• Assist with strengthening internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial reporting processes

• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and support audit coordination

• Mentor and develop junior accounting team members as the organization continues to grow

Qualifications

• Active CPA required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• 6+ years of accounting experience with a strong foundation in technical accounting and financial reporting

• Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred, but not required

• Deep understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts

• Experience supporting publicly traded companies and SEC reporting environments preferred

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and evolving environment
