We are looking for a high-level Project Accountant to partner directly with our CFO. This isn't just a role for processing numbers; it is a strategic position designed for someone who wants to own the financial lifecycle of major construction projects. You will be the primary authority on project profitability, ensuring our Percentage of Completion (PoC) and WIP reporting are flawless while maintaining rigorous control over subcontractor financial lifecycles.

Core Responsibilities
- Project Financial Stewardship: Lead the end-to-end accounting for construction projects, including budget creation, variance analysis, and "Actual vs. Budget" reporting.
- Revenue Recognition: Expertly manage Percentage of Completion accounting to ensure accurate revenue and expense tracking across all active jobs.
- Subcontractor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractor financial compliance, overseeing cost tracking, threshold payments, AIA contract alignment, and final closeouts.
- Strategic Forecasting: Develop and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow model to keep leadership informed of liquidity and project health.
- Audit & Compliance: Take point on annual external audits and ensure total compliance with local, state, and federal reporting, including sales/use tax and 1099 filings.
- General Ledger Mastery: Orchestrate the monthly close process, including timely bank and G/L reconciliations and WIP report preparation.
Requirements
- Industry Expertise: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience specifically within the Construction industry.
- Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in Sage Intacct or Sage Timberline is highly preferred. Advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Contract Knowledge: Strong familiarity with AIA contracts and public sector project requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Mindset: You are proactive, curious, and detail-oriented, with the communication skills to translate complex data into actionable insights for management
