This role will be responsible for project and holding company accounting, transaction support, construction draw activity, intercompany accounting, consolidated reporting, and budgeting across a portfolio of real estate development investments. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close and reporting processes, and helping strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and operational workflows as the company continues to scale.This role will begin with a three‑month training period based in our Dallas office, after which the position will transition to a permanent location in Las Colinas.Key ResponsibilitiesProject AccountingManage accounting for real estate development projects and related holding companies.Support deal onboarding, transaction closings, project setup, and funding activities.Review and process construction draws, builder reimbursements, and project‑level revenue recognition.Maintain project reconciliations, supporting schedules, monthly close activities, project‑level budget tracking, and reporting.Intercompany, Consolidation & Technical AccountingTrack, process, and ensure timely payment of builder‑related expenses.Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidated reporting across OHC and subsidiary entities.Research and apply GAAP guidance related to revenue recognition, consolidations, capitalization, and transaction accounting.Assist with drafting, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Help create and ensure compliance with company accounting policies, reporting standards, and internal control procedures.Finance Reporting & Process ImprovementMaintain vendor master data and support onboarding.Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, monthly reporting packages, and budget‑to‑actual analyses.Assist with financial statement preparation, forecasting support, and management reporting.Create and maintain weekly cash flow analysis.Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting visibility, and operational scalability.Support ongoing NetSuite optimization, reporting structure improvements, and accounting system enhancements.Professional Experience3‑6+ years of accounting experience within real estate, development, construction, private equity real estate, or project‑based environments.Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, consolidations, budgeting, and financial reporting.Experience with project accounting and intercompany accounting preferred.NetSuite experience strongly preferred.Advanced Excel skills required.CPA or CPA‑track preferred.Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.QualificationsStrong technical knowledge in accounting, specifically within financial services and commercial real estate, including REIT compliance, 10‑K/Q reporting, and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.Ability to read and analyze investment and lease agreements.Initiative and dependability; ability to perform responsibilities independently and proactively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong listening and interpersonal skills.Acts with honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality and adheres to company policies.Education / CertificationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA obtained or in progress with end date within 1 year of hire.Essential Skills & CompetenciesJob knowledge and technical ability in accounting, financial services, and commercial real estate.Initiative and dependability.Communication.Professionalism and teamwork.Travel RequirementsTravel is not anticipated, but may be needed from time to time.Position DetailsClassification: ExemptPosition Status: Regular / Full TimeReports To: Senior Vice PresidentDirect Reports: NoPhysical and Mental DemandsRegularly required to stand, sit, and walk; may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.Must be able to operate computer, telephone, and office equipment.Must frequently prepare or inspect documents.Ability to work independently and prioritize duties.Requires active listening, critical thinking, decision-making, and time management.Ability to interact politely and professionally.Regular, predictable attendance required.Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.Work EnvironmentNo hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.Moderate noise typical of an office.Indoor business office environment with windows.Light foot traffic within work areas.BenefitsEmployer‑paid Medical, Dental & Vision, with buy‑up options available.Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account.Carrot Fertility Benefit – $10,000 lifetime benefit.401(k) company match 4%, immediately vested.Generous PTO, 11 paid company holidays, and paid holiday office closure.14 weeks maternity leave and 12 weeks parental leave.Well‑being program offerings.Cell phone reimbursement.Engaging team events & holiday parties.Intent of Position DescriptionThis position description describes the general nature and level of work required for the position.
