Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has partnered with a growing financial services firm to find a Senior Accountant and Commissions Specialist.  As the Sr Accountant and Commissions Specialist, you will report to the CFO and work with a small team to oversee the daily accounting functions workflow to ensure accurate financial reporting of the department.  The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting with 7 years of accounting experience (to include working in public accounting and/or financial services highly preferred) and able to work in a fast past environment.  If you’re looking for your next opportunity, apply now!


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee core accounting processes, manage month-end/year-end closing, and identify process improvements to maximize accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and resolve record discrepancies.
  • Manage day-to-day bank statements, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP).
  • Accurately calculate and issue 1099 workers' commission paychecks
  • Assist the CFO with financial statement preparation, reporting, and audit procedures.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and MS Office and able to learn new software systems easily.
  • Recent experience working in highly regulated financial services industries preferred

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $105,000.00 to $125,000.00
