Backed by leading venture capital investors, Programmable Medicine is building a scalable technical operations function to support rapid growth and pipeline advancement.The PositionThe Senior Accountant will support the accounting operations of a multi‑entity biotech development and services organization. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for executing key aspects of the close process, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting complex accounting areas including intercompany transactions, revenue recognition, and cost accounting. This role partners closely with FP&A by providing accurate financial data and accounting support. Candidates must be able to work full days, on site at our corporate headquarters in Redwood City, a minimum of 3 days per week and as required based on business needs. Key responsibilities include:Execute assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close under the direction of accounting managementPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules across multiple legal entitiesPerform intercompany accounting, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and support for eliminations; assist with multi‑entity consolidationSupport revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, including contract‑ and milestone‑based arrangements common in CRO/CDMO environmentsAssist with cost accounting activities, including inventory, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysisEnsure adherence to U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesSupport internal controls, including documentation and audit supportPrepare schedules and documentation for external audits and tax complianceProvide accurate financial data and accounting support to FP&A, including actuals and variance supportIdentify opportunities for process improvements and automation within accountingSupport ERP system integrity and reporting enhancementsYour BackgroundBachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CPA‑track preferred)5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in CRO, CDMO, or biotech/pharmaExperience with intercompany accounting and multi‑entity consolidationUnderstanding of revenue recognition (ASC 606), including contract‑ and milestone‑based arrangementsExposure to cost or inventory accounting preferredExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)Strong attention to detail and accuracySolid technical accounting foundationClear and effective communication with internal stakeholdersAbility to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environmentWhat we can offer youWe have a comprehensive total compensation package including fully paid medical, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family.
